DESCRIPTION

Mindfulness, it turns out, doesn't start in your head. Recent advances in science are showing that mindfulness is actually a state of interconnected awareness that exists between the mind and body. Understanding how to access this state through mindful practices, and making such practices a part of your wellness routine, can lead to vitally important health benefits. The Awake Naps Webinar will teach you about just such a practice.

Awake Naps is an experiential program that will teach you a simple and effective way to quiet your mind and body. This 40-minute webinar begins with a brief introduction, followed by a self-assessment that will help you evaluate how effective you are at quieting your thoughts as the session begins. You will then participate in a guided meditation process that draws it's structure from the Feldenkrais Method® of movement. We will then repeat the self-assessment, so that you can measure the program's effectiveness.

The only requirement for the movement portion of the program is that you sit comfortably in a chair in a quiet spot where you will not be interrupted or distracted by anyone or anything. With your eyes closed, you will follow a series of instructions* to perform simple, gentle movement sequences while also making a series of sensory observations. The process is easy to learn, extremely comfortable, and only takes a few minutes. Once you have learned the basic structure of Awake Naps lessons, you will be able to practice on your own.

 

FORMAT (audio only)

To help facilitate a quiet and private learning experience for all participants, this conference will use an audio format. You will not be visible to anyone else in the workshop, nor will they be visible to you.**

  • You may invite a family member or friend to participate in this class with you from your private residence (2 for the price of 1). They must attend from your location. (In other words, they cannot register as your guest but call in from their own home.) If more than two people will be joining you, the third must register, but they too can invite a guest. The offer is limited to 4 people attending from a single residence.
  • Tuition is due in advance.
  • Registration closes 24 hours before the program begins or when the class fills.
  • Please be aware that all sales are final once registration closes 24 hours in advance of the first class. There will be no refund for missed classes. Tuition is not transferable to another person.

Zoom is the web conferencing platform we will use to connect with each other. Zoom offers extremely high quality connections across the Windows, Mac, IOS, and Android platforms. If you are considering registering but are concerned about the technology, please feel free to email us and request a conference meet and greet. We will spend a few minutes with you using the Zoom Conference application in order to make sure that the sound is comfortable for you.
