Do any of these scenarios apply to you?

  • Have you stopped doing activities you enjoy due to pain or injury?
  • Do you frequently feel anxious or stressed?
  • Are you looking for a way to enhance your life and health through mindful practices?
  • Are you an athlete, dancer, actor, or musician?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, Movement and Mindfulness with the Feldenkrais Method can help. The wonderful thing about the Feldenkrais process is that it meets you where you are. On the most basic level, this is a class in which you will learn to move with awareness. On a deeper level it is a class that will connect you with yourself at the deepest levels of being human. Through an interweaving process of moving, thinking, sensing, and feeling, you will find a renewed sense of integration. Most students experience an improved sense of well being that usually begins with a feeling of greater ease of movement.

The Feldenkrais Method® is a way to experience mindfulness in action. This gentle, deeply therapeutic mind body method is one of the best ways to achieve mind body integration, leading to a healthier, younger-feeling body. The movement, which is done while lying on a mat, is very gentle and should be safe and comfortable for most individuals, regardless of overall fitness level.

Best selling author, Norman Doidge, MD, has endorsed the Feldenkrais Method in his latest book, The Brain’s Way of Healing: Remarkable Discoveries and Recoveries from the Frontiers of Neuroplasticity. There are also a growing number of studies that are providing evidence of the many physical, emotional, and cognitive benefits of training in this Method.

Students should bring an exercise mat or blanket to class, and dress in layers for warmth. Each class will be recorded and participants will have the option to download an audio MP3 of their lessons.
